nicotin

kf-leitfigur2-sprechblaseEvery smoker at some point asks themselves why they smoke, but most try not to think about it because these thoughts are uncomfortable for them. Those who start smoking are often unaware of the dangers and risks. Nicotine has such a strong hold on many smokers that quitting can sometimes seem almost impossible. Many find it difficult to become non-smokers without help, some not at all, and others require superhuman willpower.

To prevent it from coming to that, people must be warned about the dangers of smoking. There is no guaranteed solution, but there are some suggestions that might help. Effective addiction prevention should begin early in childhood. Therefore, children between the ages of ten and twelve should know the most important facts about the abuse of addictive substances such as tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs. Children and adolescents who are well informed about the consequences of nicotine addiction and have a critical attitude toward tobacco use are unlikely to start smoking. Such young people have learned to refuse offers of cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs. During puberty, this can have a supportive and helpful influence.
