If someone seriously wants to quit their addiction, they have to change their attitude toward their behavior. Changing habits is not always easy, especially when you decide to give something up. Habits are not innate; they are learned. We all know how difficult it is to give up and change something. Once something has settled in our minds, it’s not easy to let go of it quickly. But above all, breaking away from nicotine and drugs is particularly hard for many.
When people ask me how I managed to free myself from nicotine and drugs, I always answer: “I started thinking differently.”

Changing your mindset takes time and practice. You can’t change a person’s character overnight or cure an addict instantly. Each of us is responsible for our own thoughts and actions. We decide for ourselves how we want to shape our lives. After all, our thoughts are free.
The start of withdrawal can cause fear at first. Habits have to be broken. And while I’m breaking them, I don’t yet know how my mind and psyche will react. The unknown creates feelings of restlessness and tension inside me. Many people wanting to quit struggle to control their thoughts in such moments because unpleasant emotions arise. But if I want to change, I have to allow change to happen.
Each of us has our own world of feelings and thoughts. Thoughts can hurt and be unpleasant. But when you have control over your thoughts, they can help you achieve everything you desire and imagine. If you want to become drug-free or quit smoking, you just need to focus your mind intentionally. Believe firmly in your strength and never doubt yourself. Then you too will find the right path that will lead you to your longed-for goal.
We all have the ability to change. "If you want to change the world, start with yourself," says an old proverb. And remember: Change can only happen by recognizing your own weaknesses.

Our life is always the result of our thoughts. Body and mind can only be brought under control if healthy thinking is present. Just as a diabetic must keep their blood sugar under control, so should former addicts manage their abstinence. Take your time and reflect on your addiction. Explore new paths and learn to think with health-conscious awareness.
